Monthly Town Board Meeting
Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 6:30 pm at Town Hall

AGENDA

  1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
  2. Announcement: Video surveillance of the premises is in use.
  3. Public Comment (limit to 5 minutes per person). Note: public comment is for the Town Board to receive comments only – the Town Board may not discuss or take action on any item raised during public comment that is not on the agenda.
  4. Review and Approval of Minutes from September 2, Town Board Meeting
  5. New Business (Part 1)
    1. Discuss and possibly act on permits and permitting process, as related to the Sanitary District. Tim Van Abel may wish to speak.
    2. Kari Hagenow, East River Collaborative, to update efforts and activities on protecting East River and tributaries
  6. Old Business:
    1. Review 5-year contracts for HVFD, MVFD, and GVFD, with possible revisions, standardization, and/or acceptance of contracts
    2. Update on Town insurance review
    3. Update on Insurance pmt. for Askeaton Fence
    4. Discuss and possibly act on Askeaton Park playground equipment
    5. Update discussion on signage for landfill vicinity roads, with possible action
    6. Town Hall sign update
    7. Report results from WI- Emergency Management Grant from March Blizzard, and damage threshold number for Town of Holland for 2027.
  7. New Business (Part 2)
    1. Discuss, and possibly act on Sewer Service Area Amendment needed for HL-213-5 (8189 County D), and also the rezoning of HL-213-5 (Neal Schmidt)
    2. Discuss and possibly act on adoption of fee for residents requesting driveway installation measurements and delineation. Other fees may be discussed and acted upon as well.
    3. Discuss, and possibly approve operators’ licensees for Rocky Top
    4. Discuss, and possibly take action on communications request for Yard Waste Dump site.
    5. Discuss, and possibly take action on landfill issues at gate
    6. Discuss and possibly act to move Tony Vande Hey from ‘alternate’, to ‘member’ on LMC
    7. Set date for budget work session, budget hearing, levy approval and Town Board budget approval. (Potential dates: Work Session____Oct: ______________, Publication- Oct. 20, Hearing- Nov. 4, 6:00 pm; Levy Approval- Nov. 4, 6:15 pm; Town Bd Adoption- Nov. 4, 6:30 pm.)

  15. Convene to Closed Session
    The Town Board intends to convene into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(g) for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel for the Town who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the Town with respect to litigation in which the Town is or is likely to become involved; and pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(e) for the purpose of deliberating to negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. During the closed session, the board will discuss matters related to the dispute regarding tipping fees paid by the Brown County South Landfill and the associated litigation, the Triple J zoning matter, and zoning issues involving the property located at 7346 St. Pats Church Road. (Roll Call Vote Required).
